BARNES VILLAGE - SK8

Completion 2019

We were appointed by Henley Homes to provide the architectural metalwork for the redevelopment of the Grade II listed historic Barnes Hospital site, in Cheadle Manchester.

The vision was to create 156 new homes, with 39 of these being converted into apartments and 117 new-build two, three and four bed family homes, as well as new-build townhouses constructed within and around former hospital building.

Given the buildings historic and listed heritage, our designs needed to be carefully considered. The challenge for us was how to sympathetically design the architectural aspects to allow for the restoration of the hospital, whilst ensuring that new features wouldn’t impact or effect the original façade.

Barnes Village has already been recognised in major national awards schemes, having won the coveted Gold Award for regeneration in the WhatHouse? Awards 2018, two International Property Awards 2018/19 and ‘Best New Development in the North’ in the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards 2017.
