MK Metals Ltd design, manufacture, and install a wide range of structural canopy and shelter systems for commercial, residential, and public environments. Our solutions are engineered to deliver durability, safety, and long-term performance while complementing the architectural character of the surrounding structure.

Our canopy frameworks are fabricated from galvanized mild steel, powder-coated steel, or stainless steel, selected to suit environmental exposure and design requirements. Structures are designed to support toughened glass or a combination of toughened and laminated glass panels, with specification dependent on canopy size, loading, and location. Canopies can be designed in flat or curved configurations to suit architectural intent.

Support systems typically include tension rods or cables fixed back to the primary structure. Where required for optimal stability and load transfer, canopy supports can be integrated directly into the building’s steel or reinforced concrete frame during the construction phase, ensuring robust structural performance.

To manage rainfall and surface water run-off, guttering can be incorporated into the side or rear of the canopy structure. Drainage design is coordinated with the fall of the glass panels to ensure effective water management and protection of entrance areas below.

Glass panels are installed using engineered fixing systems, including balustrade-style glass clamps, with fixing size, spacing, and quantity determined by panel dimensions, load calculations, and applicable standards.

 

All canopy and shelter systems are designed and installed in accordance with relevant British Standards and Building Regulations, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance throughout their service life.
