Platforms provide safe and controlled access for inspection, maintenance, and servicing of equipment and plant, particularly where work at height is required. MKMetals Ltd design and manufacture engineered platform solutions that prioritise user safety, operational efficiency, and long-term durability across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure environments.
All platforms are bespoke designed to suit site-specific constraints, loading requirements, and access needs. Safe access platforms reduce maintenance time and improve operational efficiency, allowing secure access to equipment such as fire escapes, extractor fans, air-conditioning units, heating controls, and other fixed plant.
Platforms are designed and fabricated in accordance with BS EN ISO 14122 (Safety of machinery – Permanent means of access to machinery), ensuring compliance with requirements for walkways, steps, platforms, handrails, and guardrails. Edge protection and guarding elements are designed in line with
BS 6180: Barriers in and About Buildings, where applicable.
In addition to personnel safety, platforms are engineered to protect surrounding assets from accidental damage during installation, operation, and ongoing maintenance.
