BRENT HOUSE
Completion 2021
This project was executed in collaboration with Genesis Housing Association and Henley Homes Group PLC.
It involved the demolition of an existing council office building located in Brent, situated between Wembley Stadium and Wembley High Road on a 1.9-acre site.
The new development includes 248 apartments and approximately 6,000 sq. ft retail space surrounding a newly designed landscaped public plaza.
MK Metals Ltd was chosen as the preferred contractor for the architectural metalwork, which encompassed:
-
Load-bearing panelized construction with lattice joist flooring.

-
A modular balcony system.

-
The installation of stairs and cores.

Brent House was developed using modern methods of construction from our modular balconies to the light-gauge steel frame.
The design of some of the balconies also featured a very deep projection of 2.5 metres. These factors brought the challenge of ensuring the frame could adequately support the balcony method chosen.

Unforeseen delays on site of over a year meant balconies could not be sent for installation in line with the agreed project programme.

The busy city location of the project meant that some balconies needed to be lifted over a public footpath and busy street for install.

Located in of London’s emerging creative neighborhoods, Brent House at Wembley Place has become valuable community asset, providing essential affordable housing in the borough, enhancing access to nearby streets, and community connections.
The collaboration between MK Metals Ltd and Henley Homes has been outstanding. Their effective communication and coordinated delivery planning allowed the project team to maintain supply chain control, which greatly benefited the development by reducing costs, shortening delivery times, and minimizing health and safety risks due to fewer workers on-site.
