Atlantic House

Ongoing

Estimated Completion Q3/Q4 2025

MKMetals Ltd has been entrusted with the architectural metalwork for Atlantic House. Thomas’s Schools aims to merge two remarkable historic structures within a vibrant urban setting. The project presents the challenge of creating a spacious, aesthetically pleasing, and secure educational environment while honoring the constraints of the site and its historical significance, all while enhancing the building's fabric to meet ambitious energy efficiency goals.

Significant attention has been devoted to the landscaping design, which aims to address three key objectives: reducing noise pollution, ensuring privacy and safety, and enhancing the visual appeal of Atlantic House’s front façade. A tranquil garden designed in a woodland style has been strategically placed closest to the adjacent residential areas, while soundproof accoustic fencing has been incorporated around the recreational and sports zones to mitigate noise disturbances.

On the façade that faces St Albans Grove, a low brick plinth wall topped with natural stone coping will be constructed to clearly define the school’s boundary and foster a sense of security. This wall will also include decorative railings that feature the Thomas’s Day School logo, thereby creating a unique identity for the institution while maintaining harmony with the surrounding properties. This aspect is an integral part of the responsibilities assigned to MKMetals Ltd.
